Admissions to The Avenue School are managed by Reading Borough Council's Special Educational Needs (SEN) team.  Our admissions panel is chaired by their Senior Case Officer.

Admissions can take place at any time during the school year.  All pupils will have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan, they will also have at least a Severe Learning Difficulty.

Prospective parents can arrange a visit to The Avenue School by telephoning our school reception on 0118 937 5554.  Visits are managed by one of the Deputy Heads who will welcome you and show you around.

If you feel that The Avenue School is the most appropriate school for your child you need to notify the SEN team at Reading Borough Council .  The SEN team will then contact our Deputy Head who will try and arrange to see your child in their current setting.  Papers will then go to our admissions panel for discussion.  If all parties feel that The Avenue is the right school, and we have a place available, a transition plan will be put in place.
