The Royal County of Berkshire Show

Flower Show Success!

Gardening at The Avenue School has come on in leaps and bounds over the past year or so with tremendous help and commitment from staff members Eleanor Boshier and Geraldine Capel. They have been teaching pupils how to grow flowers and vegetables and how to look after the outside area as a whole.  We now have a Polytunnel along with the Sensory Garden and the results of all the hard work has been amazing.

This year we entered the Berkshire show flowering pot competition for schools. Lots of young people were involved with the creation of this display, they choose what they wanted to go in, planted it, looked after it and helped with ideas to transport it.

Entries from all over Berkshire competed to see who had the best display and I'm thrilled to say that The Avenue School won first Prize!!

It is a tremendous achievement so a big WELL DONE and CONGRATULATIONS to all concerned!
