School2School Support

School2School is a service that aims to support mainstream primary schools in our local community with inclusive and differentiated education for their students with SEND. The programme will offer targeted guidance, training, and resources to support colleagues in mainstream settings, either with individual pupils or for their school as a whole.

There is a national shortage of special school places, and many students would thrive in their current school if they had some additional specialist support. School2School aims to bridge the gap between special and mainstream education, benefitting all. At The Avenue, all staff are passionate about supporting young people in both our school and our local community, and know School2School will enable many more students to achieve their potential in supportive educational environments.

“I cannot thank the team at The Avenue enough for the support they have given... They have offered invaluable expertise and have been incredibly generous with their time. As well as visiting the child I was keen to have advice for, they wrote a detailed report on how best to support her and invited me into their school. My visit allowed me the opportunity to not only spend time in one of their classes seeing great teaching in practice (and getting further ideas of resources) but I also met with the assistant head and discussed the areas I was most needing support with; assessment and curriculum. The guidance they have given is already having a big impact on our teaching and interactions and is being felt across the whole class.”
